Arbitrator/Mediator Jerome Allan Landau, certified by the International Mediation Institute and a member of the National Academy of Distinguished Neutrals, has been asked to serve as chair of the Advanced Commercial Mediation Institute and its 2013, two-day, international conference. This year will mark the sixth time Landau has been selected for this honor. Valdivia achieved the successful return of a child to his Mexicannational father in a pro bono international child abduction case under the Hague Convention. Quarles & Brady accepted the pro bono assignment in 2005. In 2009, the father obtained a visa and a hearing date with the help of local officials including Senator John McCain. They were later found with the help of the U.S. State Department, the Arizona Clearinghouse, and Subrosa Investigations, a Spanish-speaking private investigation firm. Zapata-Rossa were able to obtain a second visa and hearing date in which they persuaded Judge Pamela Gates to rule in the father’s favor.
