Gallagher & Kennedy announced that Charles Thomson has received the Top 50 Pro Bono Attorneys in Arizona award for 2014 from the Arizona Foundation for Legal Services and Education. Thomson was nominated for the award by the Community Legal Services Volunteer Lawyers Program. Thomson is a shareholder practicing in the areas of commercial litigation, real estate litigation, products liability and professional liability. Gallagher & Kennedy announced that Tyler J. Carrell, a Southwest Super Lawyers Rising Star, has been elected to serve as president of the young lawyers division for the State Bar of Arizona. In addition to his role with the State Bar of Arizona YLD, Carrell is also the current presidentelect of the young lawyers division of the Maricopa County Bar Association. In 2015, he will become the first attorney in state history to serve as president for both the State Bar of Arizona YLD and the Maricopa County Bar Association YLD. Gallagher & Kennedy announced today that Michael G. Galloway has joined the firm as a shareholder in the tax law practice group. Robyn Nordin Stowell of Stinson Leonard Street has been ranked in Chambers USA, considered to be the leading guide to business lawyers worldwide. Quarles & Brady LLP announced that Phoenix office managing partner, Nicole Stanton, has been appointed to serve as a member of the Business Court Advisory Committee. This is a newly established committee, by order of Chief Justice Rebecca White Berch, which is dedicated to examining current processes for resolving business cases in the Superior Court of Arizona, as well as reviewing business court models, processes, rules and procedures in other jurisdictions. Richard Amoroso, a shareholder of the national law firm Polsinelli, has been elected to the board of directors of the Arizona Captive Insurance Association (AZCIA). Rita Meiser, an adoption attorney in Phoenix, chaired the 25th anniversary conference of the American Association of Adoption Attorneys (AAAA), which was held in New Orleans this year.
