It is with great sadness and regret that Renaud Cook Drury Mesaros, PA announces the loss of one of their named partners, J. Gordon Cook. In addition to his numerous colleagues, Gordon leaves behind a loving circle of family and friends including his wife, Jeannie, three children and several grandchildren. Gordon Cook was admitted to the State Bar of Arizona in 1951, and spent most of his career as a partner with the same firm; he joined Robert Renaud and Ted McKesson a few years after they started this firm, and together they formed our predecessor firm, McKesson, Renaud & Cook in the 1960s. Over his lengthy career, Gordon Cook earned a reputation as a highly successful trial lawyer, taking more than 300 cases to a jury verdict, and often trying cases of first impression. Gordon argued cases in front of courts at all levels, including a successful argument before the United States Supreme Court. The case, Alamo Land & Cattle Co., Inc. v. Arizona, 424 U.S. 295, 96 S. Ct. 910, 47 L.Ed.2d 1 (1976), was cited as recently as 2014. Gordon was a valued colleague and mentor. He will be missed.
