Located on the shores of the St. Lawrence River’s Chippewa Bay, Riverbay Adventure Inn is not just a unique place to stay during your Thousand Islands vacation, but is also a vacation destination in itself. Bill Stock took his first fishing trip to the Thousand Islands region back in 1959 and soon summertime trips to the river became a way of life for the Stock family. Nine years ago, Bill’s son Mike decided to make his passion for the river a way of life. Riverbay Adventure Inn opened with the principle value of making every guest feel like family and creating the most memorable vacation experience possible. The property’s nine cottages are nestled into a peaceful wooded setting with each cottage featuring a rustic and well-maintained interior. They range up to three bedrooms with full kitchens and private bathrooms; also screened porches or decks, private barbecues and picnic tables. Enjoying the sunset or fishing from the shore is easy from this waterfront setting, but to make it even more enticing the property also offers a full marina with fishing and pontoon boats to pedal boats, kayaks, canoes and stand-up paddleboards. All are available for rent by guests of the inn. Boat rentals and docking are also available to the public. Chippewa Bay is a sheltered area, a great place for beginners to get out in a kayak or canoe and get comfortable paddling. For those who are more experienced, the Thousand Islands region is a paddler’s paradise. The fishing is excellent all along the river; this region is well-known for its pike, muskellunge, bass and perch, to name just some. The inn is located just a few minutes away from Alexandria Bay so you’re not too far from the local art galleries, shops, wineries and craft beer pubs - some with live entertainment. Alexandria Bay also has one of the last drive in movie theatres anywhere. Restaurants are plentiful in this area, or try a scenic sightseeing lunch or dinner cruise. There are also golf courses and hiking trails in this region, and nature centers can be found at several of the local state parks.
